Education

1990-91: Midlands Technical College to earn an Associate Degree in Computer Programming. GPR 3.83.

1982-84: Associate Degree in Occupational Technology in Industrial Electricity/Electronics and a Diploma in Industrial Maintenance Mechanic at Midlands Technical College. Honor Graduate with a cumulative GPR of 3.90.

1977: Graduated from Irmo High School, Irmo, SC.

Work Experience

March 1998 to Present: CSC, Blythewood, SC.
Design, develop and maintain life insurance software, written in Visual Basic, Smalltalk, ASP, HTML, Visual C++, Java and SQL for use in Windows environment. Install, set up and otherwise configure PC hardware of all types including hard drives, NICs, memory, cables, etc. Prepare and present technical designs, work effort estimates and marketing proposals to management and to customers or prospective customers. Install and configure Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows 98. Assist customers with all types of problems relating to hardware and software. Lead, assist and train junior programmers.

October 1996 to March 1998: IBSS, Columbia, SC.
Design, develop and maintain inventory and process control software, written in C and COBOL for manufacturing plants on UNIX, DOS, Windows and Stratus platforms. Install, set up and otherwise configure PC hardware of all types including hard drives, modems, memory, cables, etc. Install and configure all types of operating systems and application software. Assist customers with all types of problems relating to hardware and software. Supervise and train junior programmers. . Install Intermec bar code readers, controllers and transaction managers. Develop bar code reading software, for Intermec RF bar code readers, using Dataconnect, to interface with Oracle Manufacturing.

March 1991 to October 1996: Policy Management Systems Corporation, Blythwood, SC
Design, develop, maintain and train users and other programmers on a variety of PC DOS, Windows and Novell LAN based client/server applications using C, Smalltalk, SQL, BASIC and some Assembler, COBOL and ACCESS. Provide Software, Netware and Hardware technical support at local and remote sites. Develop and Object Oriented Client Server software package using Smalltalk and DB2.

Sept. 1979 to Sept 1990: AT&T Nassau Metals, P.O. Box 218, Gaston, SC 29053
Operate and maintain a continuous casting machine, shaft furnace, overhead crane and other heavy equipment. I was also a member of the Nassau Emergency Response Team (EMT).

Sept. 1984 to Sept. 1990:SC Army National Guard, 218th HSB HHC, Newberry, SC
Repair, maintain and inspect a UH-1H "Huey" helicopter as a Crew Chief. I held the rank of E-4 and an Aircraft Crew Member Badge.
